Unit 7 subtle mind

The Asclepius form of healing = the subtle mind. This form of healing uses visualization to access our inner healer. By using this exercise we may think if happy times, place and people. By leading by example, such as leading a life of wholeness, mind/body and spirit we can help our clients practice what we do. We can not teach others the rules if we don't know them!
As a wellness professional, knowing these practices of mind/body/spirit will allow for me to see it through their eyes, understand more on their level.

  1. Hi Angela,

I think the exercise really helped me realize that I have the capability to heal from within and I look forward to sharing the gift with others, also while meditating healing for others. I hope it does the same for you. I think by all of us in the class practicing meditation, we can really get the experience needed to relate to, and to teach others about. I really love that quote you posted, so thank you for sharing.

  2. I agree that we cannot teach others how to follow the rules if we do not first follow them ourselves. As I continue my journey in the health and wellness field, I hope to experience many different types of healing practices so that I can further understand where my clients/patients stand in their approach to healing their inner and outer self. I also appreciate the quote you chose to represent this weeks exercise!

  3. This particular exercise was rather challenging for me to practice initially, though after some time I found it easier to visualize Asclepius. I agree with that something as intricate as this concept is, integral health is a path that must be experienced first-hand in order to successfully motivate others towards this path.

  4. Angie,

Seeing something through another person's eyes is crucial especially in health and wellness because it effects them greatly. What comes to mind is the show the biggest loser, and many times the contestants gain weight due to an underlying problem and having trainers that have experienced this or something similar and have transformed their lives it is easier for them to understand and develop workout plans and mentor sessions according to their needs and personal experiences.

  5. How did you feel while doing this exercise, did you like it? I personally love visualization exercises! I agree with you that one must experience something in order to teach it well

  6. I do believe that we should lead by example. It is important to be on point in order to lead.

How do you like the visualization exercises. Are you comfortable with them? Is it something that brings something to your life? Just curious. They are hard for me. I am having an easier time slowing my mind...A very LARGE step for me...so I find that this is success for me.

    Best of luck to you!
