The ratings for this assignment were slightly challenging for me as I have a hard time relaxing ;(. With this, my ratings for A- my physical well being is a 5. The reason why is because when I am stressed it reflects on my physical health, and stress is around me at all times! B- my spiritual well-being is about a 5 as well at this current time, along with my psychological at a 5 as well. I have had some recent stressful situations that I must try and reflect on and create more positive experiences. My goal is to meditate on a daily basis, (wich I started yesterday) by doing yoga for a short time in the yard in the wonderful sun, breathing slowly and relaxing. By doing this daily, I can clear my brain of chatter and create a quietness.
The exercise was very relaxing and gave me confidence while listening to it. I felt a positive, warm energy while listening to it and felt as peace and ease. It was very comforting.

I am a mother as well of a 17 year girl who is embarking on choosing a culinary college to start her way of life. I thought as she got older things would get a little easier for me, but now it is time for getting as many scholarships and I have entered a new meaning for stress with scholarship deadlines. It literally makes me crazy, but there is one thing I learned that working together to complete the tremendous paperwork and finally mailing them gives us both calming and grateful feeling to realize that something great will come of it.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the exercise was relaxing to you, I guess I don't have the imagination for it but will try to learn and keep on trying.
Loved the honesty
Keep up the great work!

Hi Angela!
ReplyDeleteI can completely understand and relate about the stress. I'm glad to see that the exercise helped give you at least a little bit of positivity and relaxation for a brief moment. Although I can imagine some of the stress of being a mother, I do have a technique I want to share. I am in no way living a perfect care-free life, but I like to share one thing that has been helping me… when I start to feel stressed or overwhelmed I write down all the things I have control of and set up a list of when to accomplish them (prioritize). Then when I feel stressed or overwhelmed I say in my head "is feeling this way going to change the situation? No! It just causes harm to my mind and body". I hope it doesn't sound silly, but try it! I also do it with anger/annoyance… "is being angry/annoyed at this situation going to change it? No, so choose happiness" :-) Best wishes <3
Angela- Thanks so much for the great thoughts! That is a really good way to control the things you can, and let the other worries and stressors go. I love this idea, and am going to try it!
ReplyDeleteDonna- I cant imagine doing scholarships right now with my son! What a stress but am glad your daughter is so motivated! Thanks for the reply!

Im sorry I called you Angela, Heather! I must be tired! ha
ReplyDeleteAngie,
ReplyDeleteIt is definitely hard to do have stress and have our bodies in full capacity of health. Doing exercises such as meditation and yoga should help and be beneficial to you. Have you ever thought about doing a cardio class such as zumba or stair stepper? It seems those classes are aiming toward the similar traits although presume a harder workout.
Best of luck!
